Catch up:  Milestone 1  |  Milestone 2  |  Milestone 3

It’s January 2011. I’ve been in DC for a few months pursuing advertising with Bisnow when I get a call from one of my former editors at BizBash:

“Hey Channing, would you like to cover some D.C. events for us?”

My answer? An immediate and enthusiastic, “Send me the details!”

An Iconic Introduction to D.C. Events

The very first event they sent me to cover? The BET Honors dinner at Arena Stage.

It was a stunning affair, produced by none other than the incredibly talented André Wells.

This would turn out to be the first of many events I’d attend that André designed, produced and executed.

It would also serve as the beginning of one of my favorite friendships in the Washington event world.

Little did I know at the time what a true BFD I was speaking with on that first phone interview.

What a way to be introduced to the DC event scene!
